Photographer's Note

On June 14, 2008, I went to the opening of the Dale Chihulis exhibit at the De Young Museum in San Francisco. It was the biggest art exhibition yet done by the artisan team of Dale Chihulis. I was treated to a beautiful "Light Fantastique".

Shown in this photo are all blown glass objects with lights inside and outside. These are Chihuli's version of sea kelps of the underwater world. The human figure on the right hand side will give you an idea of the scale of Chihuli's work.

What are shown in the museum are the "Blown Glass sculptures" of Chihuly and his team of artisans. Over the years Chihuly and his teams have created a wide vocabulary of blown forms, revisiting and refining earlier shapes while at the same time creating exciting new elements.
