Photographer's Note

This shot was taken at the San Fransisco Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. The Conservatory is divided up into five rooms: Lowland Tropics, Highland Tropics, Potted Plants, Special Exhibits, and Aquatic Plants. These flowers were in the Aquatic Plant room.

Reflected in the water is the ceiling of the Conservatory. The Conservatory was built from a kit imported by American billionaire James Lick from Scotland in the late 1870s. The graceful Victorian structure made of wood painted white and glass is one of the oldest conservatories in the United States.

I visited the Conservatory some time ago with a good friend after having wanted to visit it for a very long time. It is now one of my favorite places to go to whenever I happen to be in San Francisco. Entry costs 7 dollars for adults, and the experience is more than worth the money.
