Photographer's Note

Yes I am experimenting with night shots! And yes, I know they're not perfect. I hope you enjoy them anyway, and definitely feel free to critique and tell me the error of my ways ;)

This is a carnival that was held in the city of Clearlake this July 4th. It was one of those where each ride rolls in on a big truck. The trucks park in strategic locations, set up, and voila: Instant carnival! Just add people and junk food.

I like this image because the movement of the tilt-a-whirl causes us to be able to see through the nearest car to the super slide behind it. But then we have the solid bars of the steel barrier in front of the moving cars. I thought it was a fun mixture of stillness, motion, and stillness in fore, mid, and background respectively.

Paolo, I did shoot this with what you'd say was too high an ISO rating, so I'll try a lower setting next time I'm out at night. But I think there's minimal noise anyway. Perhaps I got lucky.
