Photographer's Note

I thought it might be nice to put images I've posted from this beach into context by including a photo showing the length of Stinson Beach, as well as the community that runs along the edge of the sandy beach. The town of Stinson Beach is in the foreground. In the distance is the town of Bolinas, famous for its desire to be left alone by tourists. Every time highway officials install a new sign on Highway 1 identifying the road leading to Bolinas, the residents tear it down! West Marin is noted for its radical political attitudes. Needless to say there are many unhappy folks in these towns at the moment.

Beyond the town of Bolinas is the southern end of Point Reyes National Seashore. The whole region is a favorite of hikers, surfers and horseback riders. Enjoy the view!
