Photographer's Note

The SF Pride Parade had several Grand Marshalls and other well-known local folks, sitting and waving from atop a caravan of classic convertible cars that slowly rolled down Market Street.

Technically, the Grand Marshalls were Armistead Maupin and Laura Linney, but I didn't get a good shot of them. This shot is of Rev. Cecil Williams, the leader of Glide Memorial Church in San Francisco, with his wife. I think his hearty wave and her pearly white grin typify the look of Grand Marshalls in just about every parade in American history. Does this double portrait work for you? Does the cropped hand bother you? (It doesn't bother me.)
