For All Mothers, a photo from California, West

Photographer's Note

I was in Pasadena, California, ostensibly to give a lecture. The city is the site of the great academic institution Caltech, the Norton Simon Museum, and the Huntington Library. While visiting the Botanical Gardens at Huntington Library, I saw the extraordinarily beautiful roses, drenched by a water sprinkler that had just passed over them. I jumped in to take a few photos. Alas, mesmerized by their beauty and their aroma, I stayed too long and was drenched by the sprinkler making its next pass. I dedicate this to all the mothers in the Trekearth Community.

Hello Bülent,
I take the liberty of liking this photo even though I am not a mother. There is a wonderful contrast of dark red and dark green, and the well captured tiny drops of water give this photo a special character. It may have been worth being drenched.

Well, thank you, Bulent. I accept this collection of roses gratefully.
I think that your determination to photograph the roses, when they were sprinkled with water droplets, was a good idea, despite the fact that you were watered, too! They now look to be decorated with diamonds.
Three is a fine compositional number and their triangular positioning works well as we so easily move from one rose to the next and back to the beginning.

As they say - it's nice to stop and 'smell the roses' from time to time...these are lovely and look refreshed with the droplets of water!
