Photographer's Note

On this day, to sun was to rise at 6:15, the moon to set at 7:15. This shot was taken at 6:50. I'll post a shot looking towards the sun in the WS so you can see how bright the sunrise was to be reflected this much on the clouds to the West. As I took the shot, I saw the sea gull landing; I thought I’d need to crop it out because it would be blurred at this slow a shutter speed. I was really surprised at the level of sharpness captured, in many other shots, the gulls were blurred.

The gulls seem to explode with joy when the sun rises, but I expect it’s just that they can find a meal when it gets light.
