Photographer's Note

Hello all,
Mount Shasta, a stratovolcano that last erupted in the 1786, looms large in the background of this abandoned old house situated to the northeast of the mountain. Mount Shasta or 'White Mountain' from the (Karuk)Native American word: Úytaahkoo. Mount Shasta is the second highest volcano on the United States and the fifth highest peak in California. It stands at 14,179 ft. It is part of the Cascades Volcanic Arc and consists of four overlapping volcanic cones.
We found this old abandoned farm house near an old covered bridge. There were cattle grazing around. Not much else out there except ranch land.
I took three photos of the old house that I like from different viewpoints but this one captivated me the most because of the long shadows which I think adds to the drama of the scene. There is definitely something about Mount Shasta which draws in the most unique clouds especially lenticular clouds.
