Photographer's Note

Lake Mamie is a short stroll from the top view point of Twin Lakes (yesterday's post). It is also easily accessible by Lake Mary Road. Lake Mamie the smallest lake is in between the other 3 major Mammoth Lakes, with Lake Mary connecting to it from the south/east.

The lakes were carved primarily by glacier action and are filled by snow melt. Trout fishing is popular, and I enjoy strolling around and stopping to relax. Mornings are best for capturing water image reflections, when the wind is calm. Heavy winds can come up at anytime especially late in the afternoon.
