Photographer's Note

The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels is the heart of all 287 Parish Churches and communities, it is the place where the Archbishop celebrates the major Liturgies of the year with clergy, religious and laity.

Standing in the midst of downtown Los Angeles, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels serves the total Archdiocese of over 4 million Catholics. As the heart of all 287 Parish Churches and communities, it is the place where the Archbishop celebrates the major Liturgies of the year with clergy, religious and laity.

This cathedral was designed by the Spanish architect Jose' Rafael Moneo. This photo is a partial front elevation. The glass architectural element with the cross serves as a clerestory window that admits morning sun over the altar.

There are more photos of this cathedral in my recently opened web site http://andresalvador.smugmug.com/. You are all welcome to visit, browse, comments and critique.
