Photographer's Note
Another shot from the TE meeting this past weekend at the Lee Vining and the Mono Lake Scenic Basin. This was taken at sunset on the first day. The lake is six times saltier than the ocean. It is filled with brine shrimp and and in some parts the shoreline can be filled with a six inch layers of brine flies. Sounds gross but odd and unique scenery more than makes up for it. The white shrubs are coated with salt crystals.
Thankfully some clouds were lingering around to give some contrasting colors. I used a new sharpening method learned from John Munro.

Hi Steve,
Excellent picture! I like the dry wood or bushes in the foreground. The lakeside and the stones in the lake lead to the horizon and give deepness to the picture. Beautiful colors in the sky.
Well done!

Hi Steve! Strong composition with good foreground interest. Your long exposure was right on and helped create a soft glassy like effect on the water. Well done!

Hi Steve,
This is a very interesting picture: the colors are particularly cold yet, the atmosphere feels like warm! The sharpness is outstanding and the composition is flawless.
Congratulations!

Hi Steve,a beautiful shot of the lake.I especially like the frosted plants in the f/g, they provide a good focus point and contrast well with the smoothness of the water. The sunset is the icing on the cake!
TFS, regards Jean.

Hi Steve,
Awesome shot!
I like the composition, with the icy plants making the foreground, the blue water and the colorful sky.
Thanks,

Hello Steve -
Wow, very nice in deed. I love the soft pastel sky colors and the overall blue tint. The alkali encrusted bush was a very good choice for a foreground element. It looks like all of the technical stuff is spot on. Well Done!
Thank you for sharing.

I was struggling initially to understand were you took it from, but finally I got it.
Another piece of art in your gallery, Steve. You have a good eye to get a well balanced image with a stunning foreground and enough elements in the background providing suficient info of the place. It's a pity that such wide angle approaches always gives the barrel impression. Nothing that you change.

Hi Steve,
It is amazing that the water in the foreground is transparent with a long shutter speed; The underwater rocks provide a nice contrast to the ghost plant. I'm learning a lot about foreground detail from your compositions. HLJ, Pat
