Photographer's Note
Of all the California missions, this is the most isolated. It is the in the San Antonio Valley, between King City and Paso Robles. The mission itself is located inside Fort Hunter Liggett.
There are no gift shops (other than the one inside), no fast fast; nothing nearby. Just trees, hills, hawks, and quiet.
There are a lot of ruins in the area. Its' isolation is what has kept it so pure, I would guess.
To visit the site, you must enter through a military checkpoint. Be prepared to show identification, auto registration, and insurance.
