Photographer's Note

After a nearly sleepless night in a windblown tent, I drove about ten miles further into the valley to where there are miles of sand dunes.
I had done this on previous visits to Death Valley, but had always found a lot of other people out here and footprints from days and days of people walking and playing out on the dunes.
On this day I was the only person out here and all the previous footprints had been erased by the wind the night before which left behind this ripple paturn.

I like this picture because of how it fades into nothingness and leaves the impression that it just goes on forever.
