Photographer's Note

Today I visited a skateboard park in Corte Madera while waiting for a friend who had an appointment in the area. I brought my camera, of course, and had a great time photographing the kids attacking the surfaces both curved and angular that test their skills on the board. This youngster was perhaps ten or eleven years old and he threw himself into the play that looks both exciting and dangerous. He put his helmet on only AFTER taking a tumble! But here you see him soaring through the cool afternoon temperatures.

This was a great group of kids, watching with respect and admiration the more talented participants and supporting those making the effort but without much skill. There were younger kids and older teens sharing the space. I took a great many very exciting photos and plan to create a montage to bring back and share with this gang. What better way to get exercise and share the day with friends!
