This photo was taken under the Antioch Bridge at waters edge looking up. This photo was taken from my old file, and was taken before I became a member of TE. I am compiling all my photos of my city, Antioch.

The Antioch Bridge crosses the San Joaquin River linking Antioch, California with Sacramento County, California. The bridge is signed as part of California State Route 160.

The current bridge was completed and opened to traffic in 1978. It measures 1.8 miles (2.9 km). It replaced the original structure that was built in 1926 by Aven Hanford and Oscar Klatt, who went on to build the original span of the Carquinez Bridge. The original lift span bridge was plagued with problems throughout its lifetime. Heavy traffic could cross it at no more than 15 miles per hour (25 km/h), and its narrow shipping canal led to collisions in 1958, 1963 and 1970.

Hello Andre.I sure love the patterns here, and the use of light and shadow to reveal it! I do kind of wish more were sharper in focus, though. Nice work.

Hi Andre,
The harsh light with the stark transition from shadow to light really suits the graphic nature of this image, and your point of view was well chosen; I like the receding pillars of the bridge.
There's no clear point of focus though, which is a shame. This really needed to be sharp from front to back to be wholly succesful.
Nevertheless, I like it, and the lack of sharp focus seems to add to the retro feel of this shot, so maybe it doesn't matter too much.
