Photographer's Note
My alternative title for this shot was "My disguise isn't working."
The egrets and cormorants are now common inhabitants of Tempe Town Lake as well as the Salt River and the marsh bordering it upstream of the lake. The cormorants are a protected species, but their population is growing so large in the area (here and in the ponds/lakes in communities and golf course) that they are becoming a nuisance. I took this photo from the marsh/flood plain below Tempe Market Place.
