Photographer's Note

The trail to Bright Angel Point runs along the east side of Grand Canyon Lodge, a finger pointing at Deva Temple with Roaring Springs Canyon on its left (East) and Haunted Canyon on its right (West). Though paved along its entire length, the altitude and angle of ascent make the return to the Lodge's elevation a challenge for those less than fit.

I waited patiently for this photo as another photographer was standing just within the frame of my lens to the left. When he'd finished his numerous photos of the sun through the tree's branches, a lady with a cell phone paused beyond the tree to take a photo of the canyon, and then send it to friends and family.

Unfortunately, this particular lens has a tendency to reach out and grab flare as the integral hood is a poor compromise between shading the lens and the wideness of the lens.
