Photographer's Note
I was mapping the Whiskey Spring Trail this morning when I came across this beauty. I feel fortunate to have seen it as Gila Monsters are usually only active in the less extreme temperature periods and summer has hit with a vengence (today was 110F/43C).
This image is the result of cropping to about quarter the original size, reducing the brightness by 20%, increasing the contrast by 10%, sharpening and then resizing the results.
