Photographer's Note

"Everyone" takes the cliché head on photograph of Horseshoe Bend and I'll admit to doing the same on this visit. However, arriving shortly after 12 noon on an overcaset New Year's Eve, the lack of the normal harsh shadows in the canyon allowed me to take images that aren't always possible. So, in addition to those with a bowl-like view of the bend, I also explored views of the horseshoe's legs. This is of the south side of the bend.
