Photographer's Note
Location: Lower Harding Icefields inside Kenaj Fjords in Alaska.
There isn`t much there to represent the scale of this giant mountain of ice which is in fact just a needle comming from the upper Harding Ice Fields an enormous mass of ice that could probably that could easily engulp entire Los Angeles and vicinity.
I just love its towering look but of course pictures dont do justice enough ...
To those unfamiliar with glaciers yes that blue is real and very visible from miles and yes the dirt is real too on ice, much like a diamond in the rough ...

Very beautiful form glacier like needles in the background of the blue sky. Yes this blue color in the giant mountain of ice is real. Wonderful shot!

Cred ca rama neagra demotiveaza in subconstient privitorii. Cred deasemenea ca perspectiva nu este ideala si la baza ai lasat prea mult sol/pietris etc. Ghetarul central is the point here.

Having never actually been up close to a glacier I find this type of picture fascinating.
As you say, there's nothing to show the scale of this mass of ice - it could be 10' tall or 1000'. What would really have helped was a person in the shot, or were you alone? I think this would also work really well with a dark, cloudy sky - highlighting the diamond in the rough idea even more. As it is, I think a little more contrast would help.

Excellent - The contrast of the moraine deposits against the sharp ice formation is very effective in this image.
Unfortunately there are areas of burnout on the ice which have a nagative effect - but all in all a great scene.
I think the workshop has taken the saturation too far, and that the levels were better in the origonal.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Radu,
Great capture. Well done. I like the dramatic atmosphere of this ice cap. The quality of the sky looks a bit poor. You may need to try Neat Image (a plug in of photoshop). TFS. Cheers.
