Photographer's Note
The tunnel in the photo is a US Army installation used to train soldiers and civilians on rescue efforts incase of a mine collapse. Located in West Virgina, the tunnel was orginally built for highway transportation, but later converted into a training depot. The tunnel can simulate fire, caves, tunnel collapse, meth labs, subways, and others.

This photo was part of a series of photo I shot over the course of the day while visiting the tunnel.

The skew of the shot and the bare colors (sepia tones?) define the tunnel experience.
Interesting composition and angle, Mark.
Yes, the mine collapse...what a soulful trek.

Hi Mark, A very dramatic, almost cinematic shot. THe slight tilt and perspective really adds a sense of dynamism.

A really strong image, Mark. Those ghost-like people add an errie quality to this well balanced photo. Very nice color.

I've seen many of these tunnels made by US army during World War II in countries around Asia-Pacific like in Corregidor in the Philippines...sad memoirs of war :/
