Firemen, a photo from Virginia, South

Photographer's Note

These firemen were putting out a fire near my apartment in downtown Norfolk, VA. I was in the USAF but spent my last six years before retirement working with the Navy, a most interesting assignment. I lived on the 20th floor of a 21 floor building and had an incredible view of downtown Norfolk. I would often spot fires, and in one case a drowning, and head off to the scene with my camera.

Superb photograph. The composition is classic. A strong diagonal from the lower left right through the outstretched hand. The personal interaction of the firemen seen in their eyes. Great job!

A good daily life /action/ group picture
Its very funny to see to that all looking to the right as the man pointing and the guy holding the hose looking opposite

I love this photo for a number of reasons. First of all, it's perfect for B&W and secondly the look on the faces of the men is great. Each one has a uniquely different expression which is great.

Perfect. It looks like a classical painting ! You have pushed the button at the right time!
This guy looking at the opposite than the others give a real tension in the action.
