Fathers day @ Northwest River Park. A natural recreation area in southeastern Chesapeake, Virginia, just a little bit north of the North Carolina border. The day was about as perfect as it looked. The deep shadows of the trees and the specular highlights from some of the leaves were giving me fits but it turned out with a very dreamlike quality. To me it made a perfect illustration of what the day was.

I don’t know what the dark circular areas were on the water but they were there and not generated by my gear. There had been heavy thunderstorms the night before so I am assuming that there was something coming out of the shoreline….


Tech:
Seven frames blended together in PS7 with all the appropriate masking and one burn/dodge overlay layer with opacity at 65% to help with the contrast range and a hue adjustment layer of about +6 to the saturation to correct for the loss of color on the people in the shade.
