Photographer's Note
This picture shows a native hardwood forest which was once typical of East Texas, but is now rare because most areas have been logged and replanted in plantations of native or non-native pine trees. The most common trees are hickories, oaks, maples, and basswood. Photo taken near Nacogdoches, Texas.
