Photographer's Note

On the way escaping Hurricane Rita, I made as far as Livingston (95 miles NE of Houston) where I saw hundreds of vehicle out of gas since the previous days.

They told me government has promised some 3 hours ago that each vehicle will be given 5 gallons of gas so they could move away from the projected path of the deadly hurricane, that will land by early hours tomorrow morning.

As you already saw on TV or can review in the links below, all outgoing freeways have been turned into death traps and loss of lives has been confirmed.

At the moment, people are waiting alongside freeways, and praying for a miracle to end their pains. As in any turmoil, children always are the one to take the toll most.

Hope they could find a roof before the rain and flood arrive in the next few hours...
