Photographer's Note

This is a view of the Western face of Grandfather Mountain. This is located in North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is the second highest point in North America East of the Mississippi topping out at 5,964 feet (the highest being Mt. Mitchell- 6,684 ft). The mountain draws many visitors who enjoy the views, hiking, and a great outdoor museum. The mile high swinging bridge is also a major attraction.

On this particular visit, gusting winds kept visitors from crossing the swinging bridege during the morning, but opened later in the afternoon.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look.
