Meet Robert of the Tremé ~ the oldest black neighborhood in America.

He's a house painter and brother of the man who owns the Back Culture Street Museum.

"The Tremé was where the free blacks lived," Robert told me when I spent some time in New Orleans last month. "Back then, it was full of musicians. There was music around here all the time.
A lot of children got made here."
