Photographer's Note

I photographed this snowy egret near Titusville, Florida in the lagoons within 1.5 miles of the launch pad used to launch the Space Shuttle. In the winter & spring thousands of migratory birds gather in the wetlands around the space center. The reason this is important is that NASA bought thousands of acres of land from private owners in the 1950's as a safety buffer for the space launches. Without NASA's arrival, this land probably would have sprouted condos by now. Instead, today this area is one of America's treasures where you can observe wildlife such as birds, alligators, manatees, etc.
