Small Town: 5:00 PM, a photo from Florida, South

Photographer's Note

Small town: 5:00 PM. The usual evening clouds and rain showers, for this part of Florida.

I set the camera for the dark clouds, so I thought, and achieved a bit of a softness, which I didn't mind. Capturing the central boulevard at the major intersection on the west side of town. This road is also part of Highway 192, which links the far west side of our county with the east coast of Florida, at Melbourne Beach. Not much of a rush hour, but the best we've got.

Adjusted colors and curves, sharpened and cropped. For the rush hour entry in the scavenger hunt.

Interesting and balanced composition with these triangles everywhere. It struck me as soon as I looked at the thumbnail. I also like the "in and out" mood with almost the same quantity of vehicles coming in or going out of the city.

I wish we had these kinds of rush hours in this area. You did have dreary weather for that photo but I think that its combination with the automobile lights makes a nice contrast.

I am so jealous!!!!!!! Traffic around here is a bear. The sky is wonderful and so is the green bringin a break on the greyish color. I like the point of view, where you driving or standing on the middle of the street?

Yes, that's a good depiction of a highway rush hour in Florida. You've done well with the crop here and wide angle.

I like a lot the tones in this image. The stormy feeling with few light and a blue cast works well. Also like the casual feeling in this photo.

And at least I know one car model among all those! The dark Chrysler at the right... ;-)
