East Lake Tohopekeliga, with Lily, a photo from Florida, South

Photographer's Note

East Lake Tohopekaliga, in the north part of St. Cloud, Florida, a half hour's drive southeast of Orlando. This beautiful lake in the north of our town is a center for boating, swimming and of course, fishing, in our area. This photo shows off, once again, the flatness of central Florida, and the abundance of water and aquatic plant life.

This photo was resized for posting, but no other work was done to it. As for composition, I was going for those horizontal and vertical thirds.

Any comments, critiques or workshops are always welcomed.

Good composition Michelle with a great depth of field. The photo is sharp and the colors are well contrasted, I like it :)

You and your camera have done well here Michelle :) You've certainly captured the flatness of the landscape, echoed by the flatness of the lilypads. Nice to have the vertical lines of the grass as contrast. And the deep blues and greens are very calming, accentuated by the lovely light. Nice work!

It is very nice from You, finding some free time for sharing with us so nice view. Good sharpness and natural colours. But what a pity, that the autumn has already come.

Thanks I'm doing well now - actually it was my college who got the flue - and he properly almost got me sick as well :-(

A fine view you captured here - I like that shift in the water to deepblue - and the water-lilys as well - when I see a shot like it reminds of all the shots (three :-) I have taken of waterlilys but never posted. Thanks Michelle for your post and the memories here.

Wow I'm really drawn in to that bottom half of this picture. Especially the deep blue and dark reflection in contrast near the lilypads, and the beautiful white flower. For me everything else is a frame. :)
