Inclined, a photo from Vermont, Northeast

Photographer's Note

The sloping trees caught my eye. Crystal Lake is in a part of Vermont called the Northeast Kingdom which offers plenty of photographic opportunities, especially in the fall. 2004 was a great year for fall colors whereas last fall was not that great: it stayed warm too late in the season. Colors turned late, and the deep reds never materialized.

Say, Richard, you got some nice bright color here; it must have been a beautiful day. That is odd how the trees slope like that.. as if they survived a particularly brutal wind at one time in their lives (I had that happen to a tree in my yard when a twister passed over it; it never righted itself again). The lake and the mountain flecked with red make an attractive backdrop.

yes!
you got a good eye for colour and the correct balance of tones
i like the sloping trees..
ever here the story about the town kids who were taken for a day out to the countryside
they said to their leader ...how come the trees arent in neat rows..
its strange but the real always looks random

Encore une très belle image avec cette fois des couleurs automnales...j'aime beaucoup les bouleaux et je sais que aux USA et au Canada cet arbre est très répandue; j'en vois peu en Corse.

Time to come to Vermont, I think!
I like the colours of this picture very much. Especially the reds of the autumn leaves and the blue of the sky. They make a good contrast with each other. The colour of the sky reflects in a wonderful way in the water of the lake.
