Playing chicken refers to a game in which two people drive towards each other on a collision course. To avoid a crash one must swerve but the one who swerves will be called a "chicken," meaning a coward. Well, I must confess, I was not playing chicken with a train; it was stationary.

I took this on my way to work as I was driving through West Pittsburg. In the distant right is the now-unused West Pittsburg Station, with a caboose that goes nowhere. That caboose, along with the piece of track, just appeared some time this winter; I am hoping someone is planning to turn the unused station building into a museum.

Tavuk Oyunu

Tavuk oyunu, iki kişinin bir çarpışma rotasında birbirlerine karşı gittiklerini anlatan bir terimdir. Bir kazayı önlemek için bu kişilerden birinin yoldan çekilmesi gerekir ama çekilen, korkak anlamına gelen "tavuk" olarak adlandırılacaktır. İtiraf etmeliyim ki, bir trenle tavuk oynayacak halim yoktu, tren durmuştu.

Ben bunu işe giderken Batı Pittsburg’den geçerken çektim. Sağ arka planda artık kullanılmayan Batı Pittsburg İstasyonu ile hiçbir yere gitmeyen bir personel vagonu görülebilir. Bu personel vagonu, üzerinde durduğu demiryolu parçası ile birlikte bu kış birdenbire ortaya çıktı; umuyorum ki birileri bu kullanılmayan istasyon binasını müze haline getirmeyi planlıyor.
