Photographer's Note

We had very mild weather in eastern Pennsylvania this past Monday. It was as if summer was unwilling to give in to the chill of autumn. It was about 80F(25C) and the sun was brightly shining with crystal blue skies.

I took off that afternoon to one of my favorite places to photograph: Cuttlossa Road. The leaves are just starting to change in our area and will be in full color by the end of the month. Cuttalossa Road parallels a creek which bears the same name. Very few cars travel along this road so the only sound you hear is that of the creek. Occasionally you'll hear a small herd of dear running in the hills above you. But that's it for noise!

The sun was just starting to get low in the sky when I was taking my walk and fingerlike streaks were beginning to shine through the trees.

This will probably be the last of the summerlike days for the year. Daytime temperatures this weekend are supposed to go down to around 50F (10C). But such is autumn in eastern Pennsylvania.
