Photographer's Note

As you emerge from the eastern end of the Fort Pitt Tunnel onto the Fort Pitt Bridge, the view of downtown Pittsburgh - the "Golden Triangle" - seems to almost explode before you. Pittsburgh is one of my favorite cities and this is my favorite view of it.

Since there are no pedestrian walkways on the Fort Pitt Bridge, I took this from a moving car. Knowing this was a tricky way to get a good shot, especially since I only had moments to take it and couldn't prevent cars in the next lane from driving into my frame, I used continuous shooting mode to take as many photos as possible. The selected image had to be straightened slightly in Photoshop, and also cropped. (This included cropping out the car's side mirror with a reflection of me taking this photo!)

Unfortunately it was a hot, humid, hazy August day, and the haze prevented the buildings from turning out as sharp as I would have liked.
