Photographer's Note

At the exit of the Festival of Trees, there were a few gingerbread houses on display, obviously the results of a competition.

A google search revealed that the gingerbread contest was organized by Neshannock fifth-grade teacher Shannon Burick. Some of the Neshannock teachers had entered the gingerbread house contest at PPG Place in Pittsburgh a few years ago. (I remember posting photos from that event a few years ago.) Unfortunately, that competition is no longer held. Neshannock's Festival of Trees organizers and Superintendent of Neshannock Junior/Senior High School decided to hold a similar contest using the same rules as the Pittsburgh competition.

This is my favorite of the lot, gingerbread depiction of the Frank Lloyd Wright house built by the class of Gregg Micsky, a drafting and CAD teacher, which won an honorable mention.

Hello Murat,
You will need a fairly vivid imagination to see any resemblance between this snd the real Fallingwater. But I guess there is a limit to what gingerbread can do. I like the icicles hanging from the roofs.

I ever heard about this ginger bread from old american songs, but I never tasted one. a nice miniature of the modern building.

Hello Murat,

I had never heard of this house so found it interesting to research it. This person has achieved a very good representation of the house, seem even more clearly in your w/s. It is a very 'different' ginger bread house, finely made by the artist.

I wonder whether somebody intends to eat these houses from the competition or will they get wasted?
Very nice display, charming competition.
My daughter wants to make a gingerbread house but I think I will let my wife help her with that.
