Continuando mi serie sobre New York desde otros ángulos, hoy comparto otra foto desde un ángulo a nivel de la calle para ver la entrada al complejo del Rockefeller Center desde la 5ª Avenida, a través de Channel Gardens, con el GE Building al fondo. Está tomada en otro día distinto a mi foto de ayer, y el cielo estaba muy gris y nublado.
Aquí podemos ver la entrada principal al complejo desde la Quinta Avenida, con un agradable paseo ajardinado conocido como Channel Gardens. Este nombre viene a recordar el Canal de la Mancha, pues el paseo está flanqueado por dos edificios: el inglés British Empire Building y el francés La Maison Française. Los jardines están decorados con fuentes y esculturas de peces hechas en bronce por el escultor Rene Chambellan. Channel Gardens desemboca en la Lower Plaza presidida por la escultura Prometeo de Paul Manship.
Esta Plaza, antigua entrada a las tiendas de lujo que años atrás poblaban el complejo, se utiliza como terraza de restaurante en verano y como pista de hielo para patinaje en invierno.

Continuing my series on New York from other angles, today I share this another photo from an angle at level of the street to see the entrance to the complex of the Rockefeller Center from 5th Avenue, through Channel Gardens, with GE Building in background. It is taken in another day different from my photo of yesterday, and the sky was very gray and cloudy.
Here we can see the main entrance to the complex from the Fifth Avenue, with an pleasant known landscaped stroll like Channel Gardens. This name comes to remember the English Channel, then the stroll is flanked by two buildings: the english British Empire Building and the french La Maison Française. The gardens are decorated with sources and sculptures of bronze fish done by the sculptor Rene Chambellan. Channel Gardens ends at the Lower Plaza presided over by the sculpture Prometheus by Paul Manship.
This Plaza, old entrance to the luxury stores that years back populated the complex, it is used like terrace of restaurant in summer and ice track for skating in winter.

Good composition and excellent choice of the point of view.
The note is very interesting and detailed, well done.
I like the uniform white colour of the buildings contrasting with the green spots of the trees.

Y hola otra vez.
Puede que no sea una foto para quitarse el sombrero (no te lo tomes a mal, pero no lo es).
Pero incluso así tiene la virtud de otras de tus muchas fotos de Nueva York.
Consigues enseñarnos como es Nueva York y algunos de sus rincones no tan conocidos.

Y eso es también parte de TE.

Hola Josep.
El que va a New York y no pasa por este sitio no creo que ha estado, es una parada o paradas que hay que hacer de orden. A pesar de un día nublado has conseguido una buena iluminacion la que permite ver los interesantes detalles de tan famosa plaza.
Me gusta mucho tu POV y perspectiva, muy buena definición. Excelente nota.

Josep, como dice Carlos, no es de tu mejores fotos y la luz del dia no te ayudo, pero me gusta que la composicion mantiene la vista de los lugares mas famosos de NY en primer plano y sin interrupcion.

Por casualidad tienes alguna del Helmsley? Ayer hice una toma desde el interior de una de las salas de conferencia mirando hacia Park Avenue.

Hello Josep!
Good POV to show the main entrance.I like the v-form given by the roofs at both sides and the diagonal facades give a nice perspective and depth leading to the Ge building.Instead of a blue sky,the trees give a nice contrast.

Me gusta la valentía de cortar sin manías el rascacielos. A veces nos "matamos" para coger los edificios enteros, y nos dejamos el detalle de la vida que hay por abajo.
Muy interesante la nota.

Josep, c'est une excellente photo qui nous donne une vue d'immeubles très élancés. C'est une architecture qui devient de l'art. J'aime également cette touche de nature donnée par l'arbre.

I think the buildings in either side accentuates the slenderness & height of the tall GE building. The light has not been too kind, but your inclusion of the tree makes up a great deal. Well seen & well shot!

très belles teintes sur cette photo. Le POV est excellent et j'aime beaucoup le graphisme donné par toutes ces fenêtres. Bine vu d'avoir incorporer cet arbre sur la droite : il amène du vert et de la nature dans cette immense ville.
