Photographer's Note
And now from a sunset in Ausralia to a sunset in America. I promise to change tangent soon - this should be the last sunset post for a bit!
It was quiet at the South Ferry station where the boats leave in the day time to take you to see Liberty. The air was cool and I took numerous photo of the lady with the torch as the sun continued to set, using a post as a tripod.
The statue of Liberty for me was a powerful and iconic sight to behold - man created this huge yet detailed statue in 350 pieces, put it together in France, deconstructed it and shipped it out to NY where it was once again assembled - all in 1886.

The colours and silhouette make for a striking image, and I like that aeroplane in the background, but the verticals are a bit awry...

Hi David.
This is indeed a unique shot of Statue of Liberty. The evening sun induces a different mood. Nice POV. TFS.

A really beautiful shot of a much-photographed monument! I love the dark tone to the shot as well. Regards, Doug
