Reflections of the Chrysler Building
My favorite building in New York, though I saw it for the first time this week after numerous trips to the Big Apple. Seen here in the reflection of a nearby structure, the Chrysler Building stands at the corner of 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue. An Art Deco masterpiece and a thing of beauty with automotive-styled hood ornaments in place of traditional gargoyles to ward off evil spirits.
Sadly, there is no observation deck in the Chrysler Building.
A business idea: A company in an adjacent building should open an observation deck so people can get a better view of the Chrysler Building's higher floors. The stainless steel trim at the top of the building and the "gargoyles" would be well worth the price of admission.
