Hummingbirds in Union Square, a photo from New York, Northeast

In my previous photo I showed a view of this new artwork from street level, now I'll share a view from above. :-)

Here we have two ruby-throated hummingbirds on the south side of Union Square Park in Manhattan. There is also a new, dedicated bus and truck lane that is also very colorful.

The onion-shaped dome is a unique subway entrance. This kind of canopy is only found in Union Square. The statue in the background on the right side is George Washington on his horse.

This photo was taken from a shop across the street.

Interesantan i lep pogled, dobar tekst ...
Lepa alika na ulici i deo parka sa spomenikom i zelenim drvecem, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa posetiocima.
Dobar rad, lepa fotografija.

Hello Brenda, Good that from just the shop you could take a photo of this amazing street mural. I wonder for how long it would remain there. These hummingbirds are so charming, but rather huge compared with the tiny birds.

A good elevated view of the 2 hummingbirds with wonderful colour and good framing. Superb sharpness and the bg rotunda and fountain repeat the circular shape of the concentric rings. Tfs!

Hello Brenda,
I liked the deep view of the earlier photo, but I'm always fond of views from above, so this is a perfect complement. I like the inclusion of trees, people, subway entrance and statue, and very much also the curves of the street and the steps at the entrance to the park.

You placed the colourful art very well in the foreground along with the red bus lane. The contrast with the park is very nice and the people are nicely scattered about the place.

Hello Brenda,
These are the biggest hummingbirds I've ever seen.
Luckily, you could go higher up in a store to get a full shot of them.
At the same time, they also have something of peace doves: the twigs at the back of their wings.

Hi Brenda,
I remember the very first time I was able to see Hummingbirds while staying in the US, this was an incredible experience. I thought first that those were huge insects hovering above the flowers at the UCLA campus... But equally I was surprised with the English name for the bird which I didn't hear before that. Hummingbird name in Polish, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and several other languages is very similar: koliber, Kolibri, colibrì, colibrí, kolibrie...
