Photographer's Note

This is a partial view of the University Center of the New School, a private university founded in 1919 in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan. This 16-story building, which opened in January 2014, contains classrooms, a library research center, an auditorium, a cafeteria, and a 600-bed student residence.

The modern architecture is something different for this area, which has mostly older buildings. The façade features brass clapboards, and ribbon windows that show the interior staircases. There is also a roof garden. I’ve always liked this newer building, and I tried to capture its quirky and unique style.

On a side note, I don’t know when I’ll be able to take new photos around the city. The stay-at-home order here in NYC has been extended until at least June 7th. I’ve already picked a few photos from my archives that I personally consider worthy of posting here on TE, so I might not have much to post in upcoming weeks. I’ll still be here though, enjoying all of your wonderful photos and notes, and writing critiques. Take care everyone!
