Photographer's Note

The title makes no sense with this photo, right? Well, there is a fun little bit of info that ties it together…

I’ve been lucky enough to have a small handful of pictures that offer a birds-eye perspective, which Noel has attributed to me hovering above in a balloon chair, just like the house in the movie “Up.” Love that analogy, and I wish it were true…I’d have so much fun photographing the world below while lounging in a chair…and who wouldn’t? :)

So, with that wishful thinking in mind I’ve decided to burst my balloons and descend for a picture using the same type of concept, but this time with an inverted viewpoint.

Long before I acquired a wide angle, I had a cheap screw-on lens which produced some interesting fish-eye type of effects…unfortunately though, the image quality left a lot to be desired!? It was fun to experiment with though, and sure worked great to pull together some of Manhattan’s buildings for this particular shot. My goal was to try and showcase the well known NYC skyline in a different way, and one that used the negative space of the sky as a shape of its own.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the view…and whenever you may be in the city, don’t forget to look up…even if it does make you stand out as a tourist. lol

Thanks for stopping by.
