Photographer's Note

This was taken in the World Financial Center's atrium, called the Winter Garden. It is located in lower Manhattan, and is directly next to Ground Zero. After September 11, 2001 most of this complex was severely damaged and buried in debris, but after lots of hard work, it reopened a year later.

The Winter Garden is the location of a free arts program, and it is a 10-story glass-vaulted pavillion that is filled with sixteen giant palm trees. Each tree is over forty feet tall. It provides a unique mix of architecture and nature, and is a nice spot to stop for lunch. :-)
