Photographer's Note

This is the best I could do to this photo, because in reality the sky and the sea were grey-brown and dull, so I tried to make the photo brighter and more appealing in colors, because I believe that the landscape itself deserved more, I liked it very much.

I straightened the line of horizon, increased saturation, added blue filter and added some contrast and a digital flash.

I do not understand, why the foreground of my scanned photos is brighter and the colors are more vivid, than the background. Exactly the same happened to my photo called "Beautiful New York City". Is the weather to blame, or the grey sky? Should I take pictures only in a beautiful weather, or do a heavy post-processing otherwise? I do not believe that, it does not completely save the picture, just helps a little.
And also the weather is not always beautiful, when we are "in the right place at the right time", correct?!

What would YOU suggest?

Thank you!
