Photographer's Note
Running the length of Atlantic Avenue between Mercantile Street and Long Wharf is Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park. It is The City of Boston's first waterfront park renovated in 2003. It has some of the best views of the harbor and is the gateway to the North End. It is an excellent place to relax and enjoy the Harbor.
The grassy park features a play lot, a statue of Christopher Columbus, a fountain, and a rose garden. A wisteria covered trellis provides shade and spray showers are perfect for cooling off on a hot day.
It is also a popular place for local office workers to have lunch, with many food vendors in the area as well. Free music and other performances often take place on summer weekend evenings.
