Photographer's Note
March Channels
St. Louis River
Jay Cooke State Park
Carlton MN
Hi all,
Time for another try at kickstarting my photo life here ..
So I thought a Spring Image would be appropriate...
We are still locked in feet of snow up here in the North Woods ... we are just starting to find a few spots where you can see earth every now and again .. but my yard is still covered by deep snow .. and I am ready to hear the sound of rushing water from the melt ... so I dug back through my pile of last years images and pulled this image out ..
This image was shot at a point where two river channels merge just down from the swinging bridge in Jay Cooke State Park.
Jay Cooke State Park is one of the hidden gems of the Minnesota park system. The park is about a half hour drive South of Duluth (about 2 hours north of Minneapolis) near the small town of Carlton. The main feature of the park is the St. Louis river raging through a system of channels, rapids, and falls before it enters Lake Superior in Duluth.

Hi John!
Can't believe it, you're really back:)?
A very good nature photo once more! You got a really good panorama to show this beautiful waterfall. The pov and exposure are great, as usual!

Namaste John,
A very nice presentation of the panoramic view of these falls. Nice effect of slow shutter speed which gives an active look of these. Great light and sharpness. Very well done. Tfs.
Best wishes.
