Photographer's Note
We were passing through a small Michigan town yesterday. Usually towns decorate their lamp posts with flags, or flowers, or autumn harvest decorations. But this town had dozens of scarecrows hanging from their lampposts. So while driving through town it looked as if dozens of people had been lynched and were still hanging. Perhaps a warning that outsiders aren't welcome here?
In this shot, you can see two of the lynched scarecrows. I got out of my car and hurriedly took a few shots. I didn't want the locals to catch me and add me to their decorations!

That is kinda scary Mike. Not at all like the scarecrows they had in Ionia last year, one of which I have a posted photo. Those were friendly and inviting. But here it's totally opposite. I like your point of view balancing the scarecrow and the tree in an uninviting and inviting feeling. But overall it's an intimidating street scene for visitors to confront. It seems like the bodies of the Ottoman army impaled by Vlad the Impaler as a warning to the Ottoman leaders or Spartacus' army crucified along the Via Appia.
