Photographer's Note

Delicate and transparent, strong with color and desire to grow. The flower, a being unto itself, is also echoed multifold in its environment. Appreciate the small things and all the effects. In doing so we can see the human being in the same way. Appreciate the small things and all its effects.

The Chicago Botanic Garden is a garden that has 23 gardens and three native habitat areas in 385 acres. It has 9 islands, 6 miles of pond and river shoreline, 15 acres of prairie and 100 acres of woods.

An interesting fact is that they have programs in Horticultural Therapy. "Horticultural therapy uses dynamic people-plant interactions to promote human well-being. Working with plants provides physical and psychological benefits and is one of the oldest of the activity therapies, even though it was one of the most recently established as a distinct profession."

I can think of some politicians who might be able to benefit from some of that! :)
