Photographer's Note

Chicago's New Chinatown's New Year's Dragon in Action, January, 2004

It was a struggle to perform the dragon dance across four blocks in heavy snow ... but everybody had fun.

Information about Chicago's New Chinatown is at yesterday's posting.

Tech: crop, autolevels and unsharp mask.

Note: The white flakes are NOT confetti, they are snow! Like in Liora's New York posting yesterday, it was a struggle also for photographers to take decent pictures because it was freezing (about 8-11 degrees Fahrenheit and negative windchill). My lips and cheeks were literally frozen and my fingers felt like I dipped them into liquid nitrogen. I kept on ducking into my favorite restaurant to thaw out (at least they know me there).
