Photographer's Note

The El (or L) is the rapid transit system serving the city of Chicago and some of its surrounding suburbs in the U.S. state of Illinois. The El name came from the Elevated Tracks of the system.

Operated by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), it is the fourth-largest rapid transit system in the United States in terms of total route length, at 102.8 miles (165.4 km) long. It is the third-busiest rail mass transit system in the United States, after the New York City Subway and the Washington Metro.

The El have 8 lines (with colors names) and 145 stations. Here we were at the "Lake Station" part of the Red Line that links South with the North of Chicago crossing the main turistic destinations.

I like a lot the subway system comparing with the NY system it is more organized and studiously more clean (NYC subways stations are really dirty and smell bad). But the NYC system have many more stations and a better cover of the city and the trains are very fast too.

Besides the many subways systems I used I list bellow from the best to worst in my opnion considering clealiness, services, number os stations and beauty of stations.

1. Montreal
2. Chicago
3. New York
4. Santiago del Chile
5. Rio de Janeiro
6. São Paulo
7. Buenos Aires

Soon I'll upload photos from the Elevated Tracks.
