Photographer's Note

Situated in front of the Lincoln Park Conservatory and near the Zoo the Formal Garden is a pleasant place to sit on the grass and enjoy the view and relax.

The Formal Garden is the oldest garden of Chicago, designed and planted in the late 1870s.

The Garden have many pieces of art, including the Eli Bates Fountain, the Schiller Monument, the Shakespeare monument and the bust of Sir George Solti (former Maestro of Chicago Symphony Orchestra).

New plants and flowers are planted every year between May and June a display that last till October, but being July and August the best time to see them. The Formal Garden is complementary to Lincoln Conservatory e Zoo, so if you visit these place you must visit the Garden.
